02.23.09 Dinner and Snack

Got busy with more server tickets for awhile but the rest of the evening was pretty slow. Caught up on all my emails, blogging and reading the blogs that I follow as well.

Ate dinner around 2am which was 2 pitas: each with 3 slices Hormel Natural Turkey Breast, 1 Tbsp Tribe Roasted Garlic Hummus, 1/2 shredded Trader Joe's Light String Cheese Stick and 1 1/2 cups of Spinach. Drank a Grape Powerade Zero with my meal.

Got a few more alerts and updated my Photobucket in the meantime. Did server checks and around 5am I went down and made myself a bowl with a half cup of Land O'Lakes Probitotic 1% Cottage Cheese and a container of Del Monte NSA Peaches.

Leaving work soon so I can go home and get some sleep:)

02.23.09 Back To Work...Breakfast and Lunch

Slept in until 3:30pm since my schedule has been all messed up lately. Got dressed and ready for work, imported photos so I would be able to work on my blog at work. Packed up the food I would be eating the next three nights and then headed to Cub Foods to get what I was missing.

At Cub I bought: Cooked Shrimp $5, 3 - 4oz Salmon Fillets $3, Soup ($6 - $1 - $1.10 - $1.10 = $2.80), Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter $2.80, Garam Masala Powder $3.80, Joseph's Pitas $3.50, Land O' Lakes 1% Probiotics Cottage Cheese $3.50, Greek Gods Nonfat Yogurt $4.60, Grape Powerade Zero $1. Total grocery bill = $30

Arrived at work and put all my groceries away and made myself a toasted Thomas English Muffin with Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter and Blueberry Preserves. Also mixed up 1 1/2 cups of TJ's European Style Yogurt with 1/2 cup of Bear Naked Fit Triple Berry Crunch Granola and one packet of Truvia.

Work was busy at first with several server alerts we had to check and a few client issues at distributed sites. Around 10pm I was feeling hungry so I heated up a cup of Pacific Foods Organic Savory White Bean with Smoked Bacon Soup and threw in about 25 of Annie's Whole Wheat Bunnies and drank a glass of water with it. I will get to read my SELF magazine soon!

02.22.09 Brunch at Machineshed & Dinner at Home

Woke up around 10am in the comfy hotel bed and headed down for the brunch buffet at 10:30am.

The buffet consisted of Huevos Racheros, Cheesy Hashbrowns, Corned Beef Hash, Biscuits and Gravy, Bacon, Sausage, and Homemade Waffles. There was also a carving station with Ham and an omelette station. In the center there was a dressing station for the waffles, breads and smoked salmon, a big fruit section and a pastry section.

My first plate (Slice of Ham, Huevos Rancheros, Two slices of sausage and Two slices of bacon and a glass of milk)

My second plate (Honeydew, Cantaloupe, Watermelon, Pineapple, Grapes, a Strawberry Cream Cheese Pastry and the rest of my milk)

Third (I really shouldn't have but I had a homemade heart shaped waffle with apples and a little fresh whipped cream)

After brunch, around 11:30am we headed back to the hotel room to pack up our things and ended up relaxing and since our checkout time was 1pm we ended up watching two episodes of Top Chef: New York that were really exciting. Said goodbye to the gracious hostess at the front desk and told her we had a very nice time.

Headed over to Costco to pickup a few things. Bought Organic Baby Spinach, Two heads of lettuce,  Free & Clear Laundry Detergent, Two Bags of Frozen Organic Broccoli, Lean Ham, Thomas English Muffins, Arnold Sandwich Thins, Coffee Creamer, Soup, and the latest SELF Magazine.

Came home around 3pm and put everything away and watched a movie with Angie called The Island. Interesting movie...kind of a cross between The Fifth Element and The Matrix

After the movie was over I started making us dinner. Steamed up 1lb Broccoli and 8oz Mushrooms. Cooked 1 cup Orzo and 1lb Spicy Sausage. Heated up a can of Hunt's NSA Sauce and heated everything up together in my porcelain enameled casserole and voila! dinner was served.

02.21.09 Lunch at Ruby Tuesday and Dinner at Machineshed

Woke up around 1pm and got ready to go on our Valentine's weekend as we had planned since I worked last weekend.

Loaded up everything in the truck and headed to Ruby Tuesday for lunch.

Arrived at 2pm and were promptly seated. We had a wonderful B1G1 Free coupon so I ordered the Steak and Shrimp Scampi with Broccoli, Mashed Cauliflower and Salad Bar. And Dave got the 8oz Ribeye with Broccoli, Brown Rice and Salad Bar.

We left the restaurant around 3pm and headed to the hotel to check-in but unfortunately on the way the driver's side front tire blew out on our exit's ramp only a few blocks away from the hotel:(

A generous onlooker stopped to help us but the police told us we had to drive the truck around the turn and onto the shoulder on the bridge which was even more dangerous. Dave respectfully disagreed and complied and the officer was nice enough to call the highway helper for us.

We waited about an hour for him to show up and once he arrived he was quick and did a great job for us. We were so grateful and tipped him. Checked into our hotel about 4:30pm and were so thrilled to make it.

Lovely room! Comfy king sized bed, 4x6 whirpool tub, huge bathroom with a large walk-in shower, massive desk, decent sized TV and a minifridge/microwave combo with a gorgeous plate of strawberries and chocolate in there for us!

The happy couple

After we checked out our hotel room we brought our things in and put them away and headed back home for the DVD player we had forgotten and a few other things. Stopped in Borders and used my 40% off coupon to buy Gordon Ramsay's new book - Healthy Appetite! Went to Cub next door and bought some fat free ReddiWip to go with those strawberries and sugar free angel food cake we brought with. A six pack of NSA Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches. Got a small pack of Diet Coke and a pack of Diet Orange Cream Soda. Also bought some Light Babybel Cheeses and Kozy Snack NSA Cherry Jubilee Pudding. Picked up some Whole Grain Thomas English Muffins since they were B1G1.

Got back to the hotel around 7:15pm in time to put the groceries away and head to dinner for our 7:30pm reservation.

The appetizer we ordered was Stuffed, Breaded Mushrooms with Hidden Valley Ranch dipping sauce.

My portion

Also ordered us two cups of Chili. We each cut a piece of rye bread in half and ate it with our Chili.

The rest of the included appetizers...we divvied up the Coleslaw, Cottage Cheese, Rye Bread and Moist Spice Cake!

My entree - Marinated Chicken Breast with Sweet Potato Fries.

Dave's entree - Prime Rib with Au Jus and Sweet Potato Fries.

Veggies was baby carrots and we split them.

Us enjoying our meal!

02.20.09 Lunch at Home and Dinner out with Grandma at Baker's Square

Woke up around 2pm and made Dave, Angie and I lunch which was five sweet turkey sausage links fried up and cut up mixed with one container of Trader Joe's Tabbouli and 4oz Mozzarella Cheese stuffed in 2 Joseph's Pitas per person. Had sugar free orange juice to drink with our meal.

My portion

After lunch we headed out to go visit grandma, Dave's mom. We got there and she showed us how nicely she rearranged her room.

She wanted Angie and I to pick out a pair of earrings from her collection. I chose a lovely white dangly pair and tried them on.

After that we went out to the common area and played cards for awhile. She wanted to play 234 where 2's are wild the first hand then 3's, 4's, 5's, 6's, 7's, 8's, 9's, 10's, J's, Q's, and then K's. When we were finished with the card game Angie played the piano for awhile and I played a bit after her.

Then we headed to Baker's Square. I had a bowl of Chili, the Broccoli Quiche and a slice of Sugar Free Banana Cream Pie.
